AlonissosTown, or Chora, used to be the capital of the island until a severe earthquake in 1965 destroyed the village and made most inhabitants to move to present capital, Patitiri. Now the village has been restored to its old beauty. 4km west of Patitiri
Patitiri
Patitiri is the capital of the island, built amphitheatically around a bay. Tourist developed with many facilities, many excursion boats leave from Patitiri to the Marine Park of Alonissos. Located on the southern side of the island.
Steni Vala
Stevi Vala is a beautiful village with seaside taverns, built around a bay. The village is surrounded by pine trees. 10km north east of Patitiri.
Beaches
The beaches of Alonissos offer a picturesque environment to relax. Famous for its clean water and the green landscape surrounded by pine trees. Kokkinokastro, Votsi, Chrissi Milia, Glyfa, Rousoum Gialos, Tzortzi Gialos, Marpounta, Agios Petros, Agios Dimitrios, Lakes, Lefto Gialos, Megali Ammos, Megalos Mourtias, Spartines, Vamvakies, Vrisitsa, Vythisma are the most famous beaches.
